DEPARTMENT: Leadership, Education & Engagement (LEE)
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Provide administrative support for LEE Department staff in implementing and coordinating programs and activities.
REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Leadership Development
LOCATION: Washington, DC; eligible for telework 2 days/week
PAY RANGE: An hourly equivalent to $50,000 - $60,000 annually
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative and project support for staff members of the leadership development team and the Vice President of Leadership, Education & Engagement, including preparing and submitting expense reports.
- Collaborate with staff in updating and creating leadership development curriculum and resources, including: design PowerPoints, update facilitator guides and handouts, and research content.
- Provide administrative support for AFBF award programs, including County Activities of Excellence, Distinguished Service, and Founders Awards.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for FB University, Farm Bureau’s Learning Management System, including: manage users, provide customer service support for members and state staff, update files, create reports.
- Manage module logistics for Partners in Advocacy Leadership program.
- Provide administrative and program support for department-sponsored meetings and programs, including: facilitate event registration, make conference room reservations, prepare meeting materials, coordinate correspondence and agendas, manage travel reservations, and coordinate catering.
- Process team expense reports and other program expenses through accounting system. Review accounting records to ensure timely approvals and accuracy in team budgets.
- Serve as customer service representative for the department with individuals from the state Farm Bureaus and other AFBF teams.
- Assist in preparing budgets, coordinating board report content, promotional materials, and updating website.
- Provide relief and back-up assistance to the front desk.
- Perform other duties and coordinate long-term projects as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Works daily with all members of the Leadership, Education, & Engagement Department. Works with other AFBF department members, volunteer leaders and sponsors as needed.
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a professional environment
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Detail oriented and strong editing skills
- Strong initiative and good judgement
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

- Experience with Farm Bureau and/or agriculture
