The American Farm Bureau Federation is once again welcoming 4-H and FFA members to the organization’s Annual Convention and Trade Show, Jan. 17-22, in Austin, Texas. This experience, which is free for the students and includes full access to all the Convention offers to registered attendees, is a great opportunity for young people to connect with farmers and ranchers and learn about careers in agriculture.
“Though this is not the first year we’ve welcomed 4-H and FFA members to our Annual Convention, their participation in our 2020 gathering is more fitting than ever as thousands of Farm Bureau members from across the country come together with a focus on the next century of Farm Bureau with our theme, 2020 Vision: Sustaining America’s Agriculture,” said AFBF President Zippy Duvall, a 4-H alumnus.
AFBF is planning special programming for 4-H and FFA attendees on Sunday, Jan. 19, but the students are encouraged to participate in the many additional learning and networking experiences available on Saturday, Jan. 18, and Monday, Jan. 20. The special programming includes an exclusive Annual Convention kickoff for 4-H and FFA members, lunch, an agriculture careers discussion panel and a closing session.
More information about Annual Convention, including a tentative agenda, can be found here. Advisors and club leaders can register their 4-H and FFA members here. The free registration includes one free chaperone and advisor/club leader per chapter/club.
