American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall and Vice President Scott VanderWal recently participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery, taking time to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Several state Farm Bureau presidents joined Duvall and VanderWal at the cemetery: Randy Veach, Arkansas; Richard Guebert Jr., Illinois; Chuck Fry, Maryland; Mike McCormick, Mississippi; and Ryck Suydam, New Jersey.

According to the most recent Census of Agriculture, 11% of U.S. farmers have served or are serving in the military.

AFBF is honoring veterans as part of its centennial celebration; the organization’s official anniversary date is Nov. 12.
