American Farm Bureau Federation’s Dave Salmonsen was quoted in a CNBC article about agricultural trade. CNBC points out that “there’s growing concern in the agriculture industry about fallout from anti-Mexico rhetoric in the Trump administration hurting American farmers.” CNBC also notes that these concerns come in the midst of Sonny Perdue’s pending approval as U.S. agriculture secretary.
Salmonsen, a senior director of congressional relations, explained:“We want the Secretary of Agriculture and USTR position to be filled, as trade is important to the ag sector. We want to keep the trade we have with Mexico and not have any barriers that would result in decreased trade.”
