New York Times: To Ease Pain of Trump’s Trade War: $12 Billion in Aid for Farmers

American Farm Bureau Federation was quoted in a front-page New York Times article on the Agriculture Department’s trade assistance package. The article explained that while lawmakers criticized the assistance package, industry groups praised it as a short-term solution.

“We are grateful for the administration’s recognition that farmers and ranchers needed positive news now, and this will buy us some time,” said AFBF President Zippy Duvall. “This announcement is substantial, but we cannot overstate the dire consequences that farmers and ranchers are facing.”
