A Wall Street Journal article on Iowa Farm Bureau’s recent trip to China included data from the American Farm Bureau Federation. “A group of Iowans barnstormed through China farm country, hoping to salvage relations with buyers who are already turning their backs on America’s harvest,” noted the Wall Street Journal.
“Iowa was the No. 2 soybean-exporting state to China in 2016 after Illinois, with $1.9 billion in exports, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation,” explained the Journal. Maintaining relations with Chinese consumers is a top priority for Iowa famers.
