American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall commented on the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s announcement of a Federal Milk Marketing Order hearing, set to begin on August 23, after years of advocating for it.

“AFBF commends USDA’s decision to move forward with a hearing on Federal Milk Marketing Orders. Milk pricing reform is long overdue, and it is something we have called for since as far back as 2019. Dairy farmers deserve transparency, fairness and trust in the milk marketing system, and we’re pleased with the decision to allow farmers to testify both virtually and in-person. We look forward to the hearing process and stand ready to explain and advocate for the changes we’ve proposed, which are a result of the comprehensive FMMO Forum AFBF organized in Kansas City last year.”
